Class of 1965

Around the end of Nov 2008, it will be 43 years since we parted company as Form IV students at AKHS, Mombasa. Life has taken us on different journeys - most of us now live away from Kenya.

However, it is our shared past that has kept the bond intact. Over the years, I personally have met many of our class-year mates in different countries and yet there are some whom I have never met, despite some effort in that direction. It would be an absolute thrill if all of us make it a point to attend the next reunion in 2009, wherever that may be. For some of us, we parted as 17 year olds and will now reconnect as 60 year olds!!

I have just watched the video uploaded by Amin. The creation of the video by Mansur has firmly established the ever green memories of our reunion.
Thank you and lets hope our next reunion will be soon.
All the very best for the furture.

Amin has done a tremendous job in putting all this together and for regularly updating it. Some of those class and other photos I have never seen before.

I have a request, a plea. Please dig into your arcives and look for your old school and other photos and start posting those on this site. And for those who have been contacted, please post your photos and information on this site. We are almost at the middle of the year and most people do want a reunion this year.

I agree with Amin Mawji that we need a reunion; however small, next year. It would be nice to see you all and "catch up". I have been to four reunions [i] AgaKhan School in Vancouver, Canada [ii] mini reunion in Calgary, Alberta [iii] mini reunion in Toronto and [iv] mini reunion in London UK. It seemed like yesterday. My major regret was that I could not meet with Shashi Shah who was partly responsible in getting the Class of 65 focused on opening the contacts after 9/11 and reconnecting. We miss him and his untimely death has robbed us of a wonderful friend... a true friend of the Class of 65. I just turned 60 but in my mind I feel I have just left High School. I look forward to seeing you soon and best wishes to you and your family. Obama Ju! Kenyans are coming!!!
